Acting

Actor, Utrecht School of Arts 1981.
Starting as a clown in theatre and circus from 1981-1986, Harry Piekema has performed in theatre-plays, dance-theatre ( Pina Bausch style), tv drama and tv presenting.
A wide variety of roles including ‘White knight” in the chess-film ‘Lang leve de koningin’, ‘neonazi’ in ‘The bomb is ticking”, Krazy Kat (the famous 1928 George Herriman cartoon character), as well as the silent role of an asylum-seeking backpacker with aphasia in ‘Koeterwaal’ and the mime-and-sing office clerk in ‘Poste restante’.
Harry has combined acting often with other disciplines as singing, dance, fysical acting, slapstick.
About half of the plays Harry is involved in are new plays, initiated in collaboration with writers or directors.Theatre-plays that were made after his idea are:
Ongenoemde Morgen (Unnamed Morning), Licht! (Light!, the life of Andersen, written by Lot Vekemans), Desilucy: life and marriage of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, written by Jeroen van den Berg), Hoe het begon (How it began)

Latest theatre production:
Borgen, 9 hour marathon production after the tv hit series, by North Netherlands Theatre, part: ultra right politician.

Commercials
From  2005 up till 2015: leading role in Holland’s most successful advertising campaign for Albert Heyn Ahold, largest chain of supermarkets in the Netherlands.
